Randomly Loving | books to inspire new year's resolutions

Randomly Happy | New Years resolution ideas
If you're anything like me, coming up with ideas for New Years resolutions doesn't come too easily. So, if you're lacking in inspiration like me I wanted to share a few books that might inspire those little grey cells. I've included some books that inspired me in 2012, and new books I'm looking forward to reading in 2013.

So, seriously, would you agree with these choices, or have you got your own recommendations? Do shout out if you know of any... I'm always keen to hear of a good, inspirational read!

1. The Happiness Project

OK, hear me out on this one. I wasn't too sure about this book to start with, thinking it would be some overly perky self-help book. But it's actually a pretty darn good read. The Happiness Project is about Gretchen Rubin's very open and honest quest to find more happiness in her life (a resolution I can totally get behind). She does a pretty good job of combining her own story with psychological facts, anecdotes, and quotes.

2. Blog Inc.

Well, if you're a blogger I can't imagine why you don't have this already. This little book by Joy Deangdeelert Cho, of the super sweet Oh Joy blog, seems to have taken the blogging world by storm. It's full of tips for bloggers of all levels and covers pretty much everything you'd want to know about blogging, from starting up your own to how to make some cash from your blogging adventures.

3. The Art of Urban Sketching

Urban sketching? How did I not even know this was a thing? It sounds a little gimicky, but looking through the preview pages on Amazon and this part-sketchbook, part-how-to, and part-travel log instantly inspires. Plus it goes with my attempt to Live More, Create More.

  3. I read The Happiness Project early this fall. I really enjoyed it! It was very upbeat and positive, and definitely motivated me to make a few changes in my own life. :)The Blog Inc. book looks great! I'm going to check if our library has it.
