Over the next 8 weeks I'll walk you through the process of making your own skirt. Nice and slow. Each week we'll tackle a different part of the project. From picking the fabric and making a simple pattern (sounds hard, but so easy) to putting in a zipper and sewing the hem. I'll cover everything you need to know. Taking you from novice to ninja.
So start gathering some ideas for fabrics you might like (I've already started here) and I'll meet you here next week to talk about fabrics and measurements.

I'll join in next month when I get my new sewing machine!
ReplyDeleteOhhh i love the colour of your skirt! I've been wanting one that colour for aaaages. Great project, looking forward to taking part
ReplyDeleteThis is a great idea, really looking forward to this when I'm back from holiday :D
ReplyDeleteI'm in!
ReplyDeleteLovely! I've bought some fabric to make a circle skirt or like a skater skirt, but I haven't been motivated enough to start on it yet.
ReplyDeleteOh wow. I have never sewn anything, though I am in the process of making (rolling) curtains, that is 2 big squares of fabric sewn to each other. I will follow your tutorials, see if I dare to attempt this, now that I borrowed the sewing machine and I have it at home.
ReplyDeleteBTW thanks for visiting my blog :)
This is a fun project. I recently made my first skirt. It was really simple with an elastic waist. Your tutorial will be fun because I can learn to make a skirt with a fitted waist and also make my own pattern!
ReplyDeleteOoh I am so excited about this! I am a very novice seamstress - anything with pleats or gathers makes me nervous :) Here's to hoping I can make a fun new skirt!
