1) Carry a notebookThe lovely Hanna from Pearls & Scissors keeps a notebook with her to jot down ideas. Use it for lists, ideas, or add a few pencils and you've got a handy drawing kit. A simple idea, but such an easy one. And who doesn't love carrying around a beautiful notebook?
2) Give yourself the time to be creativeAlways so tricky, especially since we all live such busy lives. Rusty from Rusty Rambles suggested this lovely UK-based Twitter scheme that 'meets' every Thursday at 9pm to focus creative projects. I think it really is about making being creative a priority - even just for a few minutes.
3) See being creative as a treatI loved the idea that Isabel from I Know had. She sees being creative as a treat, as a better alternative to more boring jobs (I hear that - I will do anything to get out of doing the dishes!). Let's take that further... what what if being creative was a treat in itself? A reward for a hard day's work, or as a way of doing something nice for yourself. Not only does this mean we'll see being creative as a real positive event, but it will stop it from being just another thing to add to a busy schedule. Win!
I definitely feel more inspired after reading through your insights. And can't wait to start putting them into practice. But what about you? Have you got any goals you're aiming for? Do any of these tips help?
Look forward to hearing your thoughts!
