Live More Create More | finding creative inspiration

Finding creative inspiration | Randomly Happy
Well now, finding inspiration. That's a tough one, isn't it?

I've been thinking a lot recently about being more creative. It's sad to admit it, but I've not had the chance to find much creative inspiration at the moment. And I never did get round to achieving the Live More, Create More goals I mentioned a while back. But I want that to change.

So to kick start a more creative month I've enlisted the help of the very fabulous, incredibly creative Jordan Brantley from Create Like Crazy. She'll be guest pinning over on the Live More, Create More board on Pinterest. You can tell she's a fun one!

This is meant to be a group board, so if you fancy taking part just drop a comment in the comment box. And to get you started here are some images from the board that will be inspiring me through the weekend...

And can I also just say how much I love that a lot of you are enjoying the How to Sew posts. I've had some great ideas and am excited to be sharing those with you soon! See the creative inspiration is working already!

  1. Oh agreed... finding inspiration is hard sometimes. But I often find that when I have artists block (ha!) the best thing I can do is to get off the internet - think we're so overwhelmed sometimes with the amount of imagery we see online - and I just sit and really think without distractions, or flick through a magazine I love. Sometimes it works and sometimes it doesn't !

  3. Elena this is a fabulous idea! Recruiting other creative minds will make for a great source of inspiration. I'd love to be included on the Pinterest board if you'll have me :)

  4. Have to agree with Jo on this. Sometimes, I just have to turn everything off leave my phone at home and go outside- even just for a little walk or a drive and have a think. Maybe with a pen and paper and jot things down.

In fact, I deleted my Pinterest account for almost all of last year as I just got so overwhlemed. Only the BEST stuff makes it to Pinterest and so you're always being faced with other people's successes, sometimes it's OK to just have a go. Just make something even if it's a bit naff for the sake of making something not for making the best version of that thing.

I have to really try and remember this sometimes. I'm not a professional photographer or a graphic designer. I can make a bit of a mess sometimes and be just as pleased that I've done something rather than nothing at all!

    1. So true. I totally spend too much time gathering ideas and not enough time actually doing anything about it. Wise lady!

  5. Obviously Pinterest is a fantastic place for inspiration, it's great when you have an idea but not sure how to execute it. I find though, the more creative moments you have, the more they come naturally. Once you start just getting on with things, the ideas evolve and keep going.
