Man alive, it sure is hard to enjoy life when it gets hectic! I've been in that boat for the last few weeks and have been finding it hard to slow down and relax (totally my own fault).
But since it's been affecting my sleep it's probably about time I double down and get myself sorted. Which is why I've been starting to use a trick a mindfulness guru once taught me - the brilliant 7/10 rule.
It's a simple breathing exercise. Whenever you're feeling hectic, breathe in for 7 seconds and breathe out for 10 seconds. Do this a few times and you're bound to feel more relaxed, more present, and more chilled.
Which is a pretty good trick if you ask me. I hate being at an event, thinking of other things. What a drag!
Hey, but that's just me. Maybe you have some other trick you use to chill out? Something you do, or watch, or listen to that helps you relax when things get hectic? I'm always keen to add to my bag of tricks!
