This was made completely on a whim. It was a Thursday night, I had a craving for something 60s and this sweet little Burda pattern caught my eye. Sometimes you just have to go with your gut, right?
I made this up using some thick jersey fabric I scored in Cornwall over the summer. I wouldn’t say jersey is my favourite fabric to work with (and if you look too closely you’ll see I’ve run into all sorts of problems, ugh!).
But you know what, jersey and I are starting to become friends. I’m learning to love it.
There are some definite pros to this pattern. It’s a download and print pattern, so it’s instant gratification (though a bit of a pain to assemble all the pages together).
I’m digging the details, especially the turned up collar. It makes me want to incorporate more beehive updos into my life and love that it goes so well with my mushroom pin from Turin.
All good things, right?
I’ve gotta say, the instructions were a bit head scratching and I wish the seam allowance was included (such a pain to add it in).
I’ve also learned my lesson on hemming knits and will definitely be adding some sort of stabiliser to stop the hems from sagging. No one wants saggy hems. No sir.
