Let’s make a simple + stylish maxi skirt

The prefect maxi skirt inspiration. First in my series on sewing your own maxi dress | Randomly Happy

Guys, I think it’s time. Spring is here, summer can’t be far behind. Which means… it’s time to roll out the maxi skirt.

Soft, effortless, easy. Perfect warm weather dressing.

But maxi skirts can be funny things to buy. Too short or too long and the whole effortless-chic effect is kind ruined. Which is why I’ll be spending the next few weeks taking you through all you need to know to make your own maxi skirt.

From drawing up a pattern to inserting a waistband, join in and you’ll have your very own, perfectly fitting maxi skirt in no time. Kinda neat, right?

So what do you think? Are you tempted to draw up your own maxi skirt? Or is there something else you’d rather be making. As always, love to hear your thoughts!

As usual I want to make one of your tutorials. I found some lovely hand block printed fabric on Etsy that I was needing an excuse to buy. Maybe for this? When are you free for a crafty afternoon?

Sounds great – as long as it's jersey!

Hooray for catch up. Will let you know!

I LOVE the rich green fabric and the drape of this maxi skirt! Well done Elena! This spring is all about stripes, long skirts and bowler hats!
